Renee Richker, MD is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Richker specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents, and only sees new patients under the age of 18. She received her medical degree from Texas Tech University, and completed Adult Psychiatry Training at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. She then completed a Child and Adolescent Fellowship at the University of Colorado. Dr. Richker has worked in several treatment settings, including the hospital setting, Day Treatment, mental health centers and private practice.

Dr. Richker has been in private practice in Arvada, CO since 2004. She sees children and adolescents aged 5-17 and does medication evaluations and management only.Dr. Richker specializes in psychopharmacology, the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression, Mood/Bipolar and Anxiety Disorders (including generalized Anxiety, Panic, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and psychiatric symptoms that accompany Autism Spectrum Disorder. She does not do psychotherapy, but has relationships with many excellent therapists who specialize in different areas throughout the Denver Metro area. Referrals to appropriate psychotherapeutic interventions such as individual therapy, group therapy, Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Therapy, and Substance Abuse programs are often recommended when a child is evaluated.

Dr. Richker has a special interest in emotional dysregulation, and in 2020 she helped produce the documentary “I Want My Child Back”, a documentary about emotional dysregulation and psychiatric interventions. This documentary was featured in the Los Angelos Awareness Film Festival.
